Married| A Springfield, IL Wedding |Zach + Lauren

After some crazy internet issues yesterday, I am SO excited to share this new part of my business!!

Weddings have always been so close to my heart and I am a hopeless romantic.   When I was in college studying music, my dream was to be a wedding planner.  I researched classes, went to bridal shows, and watched “The Wedding Planner” (hello, Jennifer Lopez!) more times than I care to admit…seriously, I can recite the whole movie.  But life happened and I became a choir teacher (which I LOVE!), but weddings have always been on my heart, I just needed an avenue to get involved.  When I began this journey, I KNEW photographing weddings was an area I wanted to pursue.  Something about weddings; the details, the timeline, the love and excitement surrounding the couple, just takes my breath away.  Capturing those moments for couples and families to look through as the years go by is such a privilege. So here we go!

I wrote earlier this week about my mentoring session with Jill Gum Photography (HERE is the link to that blog).  One of the BEST parts…and there were a LOT…was the opportunity to assist her with a wedding.  I was with Jill from the time we met at the bride’s house for getting ready pictures, to the first dances at the reception and WOW did I learn a lot.  The most important lesson I took away from that day is that wedding photography, beyond a shadow of a doubt is A) something I WANT to do and B) Something I KNOW I can do.

Zach and Lauren, thank you for letting me witness and help capture your day.  The love you two share is so tangible and everyone can see how committed you are to one another.  I enjoyed meeting, laughing, and working with you and wish you the best in your new life together!  You can see Jill’s blog post of this wedding HERE.
