Being a photographer is my calling. I can say that with 100% confidence especially after sessions like this one! The location was PERFECT! I was a little hesitant at first because the pictures online don’t really do it justice, but the greenhouse is such a gem. It’s not huge, but has SO much to offer. Trying to do a session in Chicago during the winter can get interesting with the unpredictable weather, but we lucked out with this place. Thanks Jess for the idea!!
I’ve known Jess for years. We met in college, sang in choir together but then life happened and we’ve followed each other’s lives through Facebook. She and her husband Adam have the CUTEST little boy (check out that bow tie!!) who just stole my heart. Such a handsome, sweet little man and I know he is going to be the best big brother! In fact, I’m sure he already is, as Jess had her baby girl a little earlier than planned! (Don’t worry, baby girl Z will be gracing the blog in a couple weeks when I do their newborn lifestyle session<3)
Even though I’ve known Jess for years, I have never felt closer to her. After my dad passed away, Jess messaged me and gave me such comfort. She knew exactly what I was feeling as she lost her mom just over a year ago. Jess was able to help me process my grief and I really felt like I wasn’t alone. It’s like a club that no one ever wants to be a part of, and once you’re in…you’re in. She helped me cross into that club with such compassion that I’m not sure she will ever know the impact that had on me. I also learned that Adam’s dad passed away at a young age. So, Jess, if you’re reading this…thank you from the bottom of my heart. And thank you and Adam for letting me capture this special time in your life! I know your mom is looking down on your family and is so proud of the little humans you and Adam created! So much love to you, my friend.
*Below on the right: This is one of Jess’ mom’s rings. Such a special piece of jewelry.
**This little boy LOVES his mama!!!
I love that Jess’ dad was able to come and help entertain little man. We HAD to get him in a few pictures <3
